This tour will go to Belem area. In the Discoveries time all our caravels and mariners departed from here to explore the world. Since then this area has become a symbol of that time perpetuated by the construction of Jerónimos Monastery, Belem Tower and – more recently – the Monument of the Discoveries. Prepare to see History, Architecture and end with a heavenly pastry.
Here you’ll find our recommendations of places to visit during the day. You can also find alternative options and additional activities. The choice is yours.
Our mission is to give you a memorable day. Because this tour is for you!
The Jerónimos Monastery is along with the Belem Tower one of the most visited sites in Lisbon. In here you can visit its church and cloisters. Santa Maria Church is totally different than any other in the world. Its single nave held up by six beautifully sculpted columns make it look like it extends forever. The two cloisters are breath-taking with its decorative ornamentation and symbolism.
This Tower was built during the 16th century in the northern bank of the Tagus River to defend the city. Later it was transformed into a lighthouse and customs house. In here you’ll be able to see an impressive Manueline style.
This stunning monument was designed to commemorate the Age of the Discoveries in Portugal. It was inaugurated in 1960, on the fifth centenary of one of the country’s great discoverers, Prince Henry the Navigator. The monument is made up of a group of sculptures that represent a prow of a caravel with the most important navigators in the Portuguese History.
The National Coach Museum houses an important horse-drawn carriage collection of vehicles from the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth century making it a highly recommended place to visit.
The Ajuda’s Palace is a neoclassical monument in the city of Lisbon (nearby Belem) raised on the site of a temporary wooden building constructed to house the Royal Family in the 1755th earthquake.
The Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology is the new cultural center for Lisbon. It’s a museum where these three areas intertwine within a space of debate, discovery and critical thinking. It’s also an amazing building with an incredible view to the Tagus River.
You can enjoy a boat trip along Tejo River and therefore have a different and amazing perspective of Lisbon. It’s an unforgettable experience!
